Take Vocabulary seriously! It'll end up tanking your grade if you don't. I know because I always forgot about them. Study for at least 15 mins the night before, and you'll be so much better off. Read the books. Tests are a lot easier when you actually have context.
Read the books! A lot of people Sparknote the books and would not fully understand the book if teachers didn't explain the important analysis aspects. Also, vocab is an easy grade booster, so always study! Always, always keep up with your reading. Not only to keep your grade up, but because most of the books we read in this class are so powerful and change your perspective and overall outlook on absolutely everything. |
It's okay to ask stupid questions because for one, it probably isn't as stupid as you think,. Even if it is, no one will remember in ten minutes.
Make sure you comprehend and thoroughly read every book in class, and make sure to start studying a couple of days prior to test day. Read The Da Vinci Code! Pay attention- the tests have questions that were mentioned in lectures. |
Vocab quizzes are actual life savers, and if you can just get into a good groove with studying for them, you will be absolutely fine (maybe).
Take advantage of the vocab quizzes. They're great grade boosters. If you study for vocabulary quizzes, they're really just an easy A to cushion your quiz grade when you have a harder quiz. Vocab makes or breaks your grade. |
It is actually worth it to study for vocab because that can really make a difference in your grade. Joining in the discussions about the books can be fun, especially when you get to argue with other people :)
I would say to always study for vocab quizzes; they can either be your best friend and your worst enemy. Always do the reading for the night because you never know if there might be a pop quiz the next day. Don't be afraid to speak up during discussions. If you have something to say, insert yourself and say it! :) |
Relax, chill out, grind hard on the vocab and you'll be fine. Stay on Mrs. Jones' good side, and don't pack up early and you'll be gucci. (Let them have rolley chair races too). -Sean Runner aka Rolley Chair Champ Never listen to the teacher, and always talk while Mrs. Jones is talking. Also, please ask to do rolling chair races in the hallway. -Harrison Livingston aka Gare No matter what happens, just know-book good. -Haven Donnelly |
